This project has become one of my personal favorite returning traditions each year. Next Level Cars, a company specializing in customized supercars, has built a loyal online following. The owner, Paul, loves using the annual Christmas video to showcase the company’s personality through an over-the-top, silly holiday greeting. Every year, our challenge is to outdo the previous version.

2021: The Beginning
The tradition started when Paul had a decorated Ferrari with a Christmas tree strapped to the roof. He asked us to make a video around it, so we went all out, crafting a story where Paul, dressed as Santa, embarks on a mission to find the perfect Christmas tree for the office. As he browses through his selection of vehicles, he skips the sleigh and, of course, lands on a red Ferrari.

2022: The Sequel
Following the success of the previous year’s video, Paul wanted a follow-up. This time, we created our own animated Christmas bedtime story. In this tale, Santa’s sleigh breaks down, and he turns to Paul for help. As a nod to the first video, Paul unveils yet another red Ferrari and ends up saving Christmas. By special request, Paul’s family made a guest appearance, which became another tradition.

2023: A Christmas Classic Reimagined
With big shoes to fill, Paul wanted to pay homage to his favorite Christmas story: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. We created a playful iteration where Paul portrays a version of Ebenezer Scrooge. Just like in the original tale, he has lost his Christmas spirit and is visited by three ghosts who try to set him straight before it’s too late. Did they succeed? That’s for the audience to find out.

Each year, the challenge is to top the last, making this an endlessly fun and creative project to be part of.
